What is Hard-to-fill skills pilot?

The Hard-to-Fill Skills (HFS) Pilot is a newly launched, three-year pilot under the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) that will enable eligible employers to recruit foreign workers in hard-to-fill intermediate-skilled occupations and entry level occupation.

Under this pilot, the SINP will issue nominations and foreign workers will be able to submit applications to SINP for this pilot beggining January 15th, 2022.

 

Are you Qualified?

Requirments to be eligible under the HFS Pilot: 

  • You must have a full-time, permanent Offer of Employment and Job Approval Letter from an eligible Saskatchewan Employer.
  • You must be applying under an eligible NOC C or NOC D occupation.
  • Must have a minimum language level equivalent to Canadian Language Benchmark 4 — if you ave a language level of CLB 7 or higher, you may be eligible for an Express Extry nomination.
  • Have completed the equivalent of Canadian secondary school (high school) or higher level education. if studies were not completed in Canada, an Education Credential Assessment (ECA) is required.
  • Must have at least one year of work experience withint he last three years in the occupation they are applying under, or six-months of work experienced in that occupation with their employers.

Eligible Occupations under the HFS Pilot: 

• NOC 1521 – Shippers and receivers
• NOC 1525 – Dispatchers
• NOC 3413 – Nurse aides, orderlies and patient services associates
• NOC 3414 – Other assisting occupations in support of health services
• NOC 4412 – Home support workers, housekeepers and related occupations
• NOC 6513 – Food and beverage servers
• NOC 6525 – Hotel front desk clerk
• NOC 6731 – Light duty cleaners
• NOC 6711 – Food counter attendants, kitchen helpers and related support occupations
• NOC 6733 – Janitors, caretakers and building superintendents
• NOC 7465 – Material handlers
• NOC 7511 – Transport truck drivers
• NOC 7521 – Heavy equipment operations (except crane)
• NOC 7611 – Construction trades helpers and labourers
• NOC 8431 – General farm workers
• NOC 9416 – Metalworking and forging machine operations
• NOC 9431 – Sawmill machine operations
• NOC 9461 – Process control and machine operators, food and beverage processing
• NOC 9526 – Mechanical assemblers and inspectors
• NOC 9536 – Industrial painters, coaters and metal finishing process operators
• NOC 9612 – Labourers in metal fabrication
• NOC 9617 – Labourers in food and beverage processing
• NOC 9619 – Other labourers in processing, manufacturing and utilities
